Are You Aware That These Celebrities Are Muslim?

In fact, these celebrities are always mentioned in the media. There is a particular reason why the paparazzi aren’t yet an extinct profession and why we buy gossip magazines en masse: we admire celebrity life. Meanwhile, it is not everything about them that we know. For example, did you know that these celebrities are Muslim?

Mehmet Oz

Most people know Mehmet Oz as a doctor in the Dr. Oz show. He is an acclaimed cardiothoracic surgeon and he is a Muslim. In an interview with PBS, the surgeon once said that he sometimes struggled with his identity. For example, his father came from the “Quran Belt”, an area where conservative Islamic values are strongly adhered to. His mother was from the secular part of Turkey. “I struggled a lot with my Muslim identity”, says Mehmet. He also noted that it had to do with the different beliefs of his parents.

Mahershala Ali

Mahershala Ali is an actor with an impressive resume. He has starred in high-profile films such as Moonlight, Hidden Figures, and Green Book. For the first and last roles, the actor even won Oscars. Dave Chapelle

Also, he is still performing as a standup comedian today. You can also watch his hilarious shows on Netflix. He jokes about everything and anything. Something less often mentioned is the comedian’s belief. “I don’t usually talk about my religion because I don’t want people to associate me and my flaws with something so beautiful”, he told Time Magazine.

Amal Clooney

Should we say anything about Amal Clooney, then it is that she is a smart lawyer and activist. She specializes in international law and human rights law. In Hollywood, she became a household name after marrying actor George Clooney. Amal was born into the Islamic faith but doesn’t say much about the current status of her belief.

Ice Cube

Not only do people know Ice Cube as a successful actor, but he also has tons of fans who adore him for his rap skills. He converted to Islam in the 1990s and spoke to The Guardian in an interview in 2000. “I call myself ‘a natural Muslim’, because it is God and me. I don’t go to mosques and don’t do rituals and traditions. I’m just not like that,” said the rapper about his faith.
